I'm not sure why this is, but two guests have been able to book there in the past week, so it may be worth a call. I just confirmed that The Sofia Hotel is all booked for the weekend of our wedding. Apologies for the inconvenience. Another option is The Bristol Hotel, also located in downtown San Diego. I have not coordinated a room block with this hotel, but if you book online, the rates for 10/19-10/21 are at $179/night. For anyone looking to book hotel room, we recommend the Sofia Hotel. The Sofia Hotel is a lovely, newly-remodeled, historic hotel that is a short drive away from Balboa Park and within walking distance to Horton Plaza and the Gaslamp District. (Just FYI, no matter where you stay in downtown San Diego, you will more than likely have to drive or take a car to Balboa Park. There are no hotels within its immediate vicinity).
We have coordinated a room block with the hotel, which has given us great discounted rates. Our negotiated rate ranges from $150-205/night, depending on the room type. (If you visit the hotel's website, you'll quickly see how significant this discount is!)

For those of you looking for a swankier option, Hotel Solamar, a Kimpton boutique hotel, has a great deal over our weekend dates (10/19-21) if you book through their website.
We haven't coordinated anything with Hotel Solamar, so I'm not sure how long the rate will last, but if you are interested see their "Hot dates, Great rates" section!
